Fire Proof Steel Door Adhesive Glue: High-Performance 1K Moisture-Curing Polyurethane for UL-Certified Door Manufacturing
In commercial and industrial fire protection, UL-rated fire doors (such as UL 10B and UL 10C certified assemblies) must maintain absolute structural integrity under severe thermal exposure. While high-gauge steel skins, dense rock wool boards, and treated paper honeycomb cores provide the foundation, the bonding layer determines whether a door resists delamination during a fire event.
Specially engineered for industrial door manufacturing lines, our Fire Proof Steel Door Adhesive Glue is a premium, single-component (1K) moisture-curing polyurethane adhesive. Designed to bond steel sheets to paper honeycomb, rock wool, and mineral insulation boards, it delivers irreversible structural adhesion, high heat resistance, and streamlined factory throughput.

Why Choose Single-Component Moisture-Curing Polyurethane (1K PU)?
Unlike traditional two-component adhesives that require precise metering, static mixing nozzles, and risk mixing ratio errors, our 1K PU adhesive cures by reacting with trace ambient moisture in the air and on substrate surfaces:
- Insoluble & Infusible Crosslinking: Once cured, the polymer forms a thermoset network that will neither melt nor dissolve under heat, providing the critical hold required in UL fire endurance tests.
- Controlled Curing Acceleration: While it cures naturally with atmospheric humidity, manufacturers can spray a fine water mist over the adhesive layer to actively speed up cycle times.
- Superior Cross-Substrate Bonding: Excellent wetting and chemical anchoring on cold-rolled steel, galvanized steel, rock wool slabs, paper honeycomb, wood, and composite insulation panels.
- Ready-to-Use Efficiency: Eliminates pot-life anxiety and adhesive waste, making continuous and batch-press lamination lines cleaner and more cost-effective.

Primary Applications in Door Manufacturing
- Steel Skin to Rock Wool Core Lamination: Provides deep penetration into mineral fibers, anchoring heavy acoustic and thermal rock wool cores directly to galvanized door skins without sagging or hollow sound resonance.
- Steel to Paper Honeycomb Sandwich Panels: Yields lightweight, rigid panels with high flat-crush resistance, ideal for standard commercial fire-rated and interior steel flush doors.
- Multi-Substrate Assembly: Seamlessly bonds steel sheets with magnesium oxide (MGO) boards, perlite fireboards, treated structural timber, and internal steel reinforcement stiffeners.

Step-by-Step Factory Application Guide
- Surface Preparation: Ensure the steel skin surfaces are completely clean and dry. Remove cutting lubricants, rolling oil films, and loose dust to achieve maximum chemical contact.
- Adhesive Application: Apply single-sided coating using an automated roller coater or a serrated notched spreader. Maintain an even spread rate between 140 to 180g/m2
- Moisture Mist Acceleration (Optional): To accelerate production turnover—especially in low-humidity winter conditions—lightly atomize a fine water mist over the wet adhesive surface prior to sandwich assembly.
- Immediate Assembly & Pressing: No open-air flash-off waiting time is required. Position the core material, apply the top steel skin, and immediately transfer the composite assembly into the hydraulic cold press or vacuum press for curing.
- Equipment Cleaning: Clean application rollers, scraper blades, and metering trays with ethyl acetate before the adhesive crosslinks.

Handling & Storage Instructions
- Preventing Surface Skinning: Because this adhesive reacts with moisture, always reseal opened drums immediately after dispensing. Ambient humidity entering an unsealed container will cause top-layer gelation (skinning).
- Extended Inactivity: If a container will remain partially filled and unused for an extended period, purge the headspace with dry nitrogen gas before airtight sealing.
- Storage Condition: Store in a well-ventilated indoor warehouse away from direct sunlight, open flames, and ambient dampness.
- Available Packaging Options:
25kgs Heavy-duty plastic pails (Convenient for manual and pilot batch lines)
200kg Standard airtight steel drums (Optimized for automated drum unloader pumps and bulk export)
