Fire-Rated Door Adhesive for Steel-Honeycomb and Steel-Rock Wool Fire Doors

We supply fire-rated door adhesives to fire door factories. Most overseas customers use our adhesive for two main door types:

1. Steel skin + paper honeycomb core
   
2. Steel skin + rock wool core
   

Steel + Paper Honeycomb
The steel surface is smooth, and the honeycomb is light and porous. The adhesive must bond both materials firmly, hold the steel skin flat during pressing, and avoid hollow spots. It also needs good heat resistance to prevent skin separation in a fire.

Steel + Rock Wool
Rock wool is dense, mineral, and often uneven. The adhesive must fill small gaps, stick firmly to both steel and rock wool, and not soften at high temperatures. This helps keep the door structure stable during a fire test.

What to Look for in a Fire-Rated Door Adhesive

• Fire test support – We have China fire test reports. Our adhesive meets UL fire door quality requirements.
  
• Heat resistance – The cured adhesive should not soften at high temperatures.
  
• Good green strength – Holds steel skins in place before full cure.
  
• Gap filling – Works well on honeycomb and rock wool surfaces.
  
• Fast curing – Shorter press time, higher daily output.
  
• Solvent-free / low VOC – Safer for workers and easier for compliance.
  

Simple Application Tips

• Clean steel sheets and remove oil or dust.
  
• Follow the recommended glue amount. Too little causes weak spots. Too much adds cost and may cause foaming issues.
  
• Apply evenly. Avoid gaps at edges and corners.
  
• Use the correct press pressure and time.
  
• Always test with your actual steel, honeycomb, and rock wool before mass production.
  

A failed fire test is expensive. The right adhesive is a small part of the door cost, but it protects your certification, your delivery schedule, and your reputation.
